Kidney Tumors
Overview
Kidney tumors may be benign or malignant. The most common malignant type is renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Most kidney tumors are discovered incidentally during imaging.
Treatment
Small tumors (<4 cm) can often be treated with robotic partial nephrectomy, preserving the healthy portion of the kidney. Larger tumors may require total nephrectomy. Active surveillance is an option for very small, low-risk tumors.
