The Philippine Endourologic and Robotic Society — formerly the Philippine Endourological Society
To advance the field of endourology and robotic urology in the Philippines through excellence in education, training, and research — fostering a community of surgeons committed to precision care and the highest ethical standards.
To be the leading society of endourologists and robotic surgeons in Southeast Asia, recognized for surgical innovation, equitable care, and meaningful contribution to global urologic knowledge.
Our Legacy of Innovation
Founded in 2008, the Philippine Endourological Society (PES) was established by a visionary group of Filipino urologists dedicated to the advancement of endourology and minimally invasive surgery. The society was born from a pivotal mentorship between the "Father of Endourology," Dr. Arthur Smith, and Dr. Joel Aldana, who sought to bring the global standards of the Endourological Society to Philippine shores.
Marking its debut on the international stage, the society successfully spearheaded the East Asian Society of Endourology Meeting in Manila in 2009, setting a precedent for excellence that continues today.
The Evolution: Embracing the Robotic Era In 2024, reflecting the rapid integration of cutting-edge technology in surgical practice, the organization officially transitioned to the Philippine Endourologic and Robotic Society (PERS). This evolution honors our foundational roots while embracing the future of robotic-assisted interventions.
